Ross’ 50th anniversary

Chester and Shelba (Deanie) Ross celebrated 50 years of marriage, July 13th. They met at the Stearns Carnival in 1961 and married on Friday, July 13th, 1962 at Jellico, TN.

The following October Chester was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army where he served 2 years as a corporal, stationed at Fort Sills, OK.     Deanie had to stay behind due to illness but they were reunited 10 months later.

In 1964 Chester went to work at F. H. Lawson’s Company in Ohio and Deanie was a homemaker, doing her favorite thing, babysitting. Their daughter, Sharon L., was born in 1965.

In 1971 they moved home to McCreary County where they still reside. Chester went to work at Tecumseh until he retired and Deanie continued to babysit until she retired.

In 1989 their grandson, Tony Crabtree, was born and in 2009 their great grandson, Weston Crabtree, arrived.

Through God’s mercy they’ve made it through all of life’s obstacles.  They’re both a blessing and mentor to us all!
