Lizzie Jones Celebrates 90th Birthday

    Lizzie M. Jones will celebrate her 90th Birthday June 26, 2012. Lizzie is a native of McCreary County, Ky.

    Lizzie M. (Sumner) Jones is the daughter of James Sherman Sumner and Rose Anna Davenport. On August 14, 1938 at the age of 16 she married Gilson Jones, the son of Richard O. Jones and Sarah Jane Abbott. The marriage was celebrated at her parents residence in McCreary County, Ky. Marriage vows conducted by Rev. Gilson P. Jones.

    Children of Gilson and Lizzie are sons Oren, Arnold, James, Earnie, Verdon, Bobby, daughters Lola, Mary, Janie, Betty, Glenna. Lola and Bobby are deceased.

    Lizzie has 36 Grand Children, 82 Great Grandchildren, 43 Great Great-Grandchildren, and one great-great great grand child.

    Lizzie is a loving, devoted mother and grand mother, a faithful Christian member of New Life Church PJBC Port Jefferson, Ohio. Lizzie loves gardening and visiting with family and friends as her health permits. Lizzie has visited with family and friends in McCreary County over the years after moving to Sidney, Ohio in 1953 after their home in Jones Hollow was destroyed by fire.

    Lizzie resides at 864 Merri Lane Sidney, Ohio 45365.
