	Technically, Danita Ellis is just settling in to her new office at Southwestern High School. In some ways, however, it&amp;#8217;s like she never left.&lt;br /&gt;
	Ellis is the new principal at Southwestern, taking over the role that opened up when former principal Patrick Richardson slid into an assistant superintendent&amp;#8217;s position with the Pulaski County School System.&lt;br /&gt;
	&amp;#8220;This is the only position I&amp;#8217;ve applied for as principal,&amp;#8221; Ellis told the Commonwealth Journal. &amp;#8220;I&amp;#8217;m very excited to be back in the Southwestern community. The students are great, the staff, the parents &amp;#8212; everyone.&amp;#8221;&lt;br /&gt;
	Ellis is very familiar with the school. She was a teacher there &amp;#8220;when the doors opened,&amp;#8221; spending nine years instructing Southwestern students in the area of mathematics.&lt;br /&gt;
