Lake Cumberland Speedway Teams Up With American Cancer Society


BURNSIDE —   Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove would like to announce a special promotion that will take place at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval on Saturday August 18 as part of the track's 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial event.           

 The American Cancer Society is teaming up with Lake Cumberland Speedway to present the 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial event on Saturday August 18 as a way of promoting cancer awareness in the Southeastern Kentucky area.  Proceeds from the Harold Hardgrove Memorial will go to benefit the American Cancer Society, which promotes cancer awareness and helps those families in need that are coping with this disease.  

  The race card will feature the 4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial, paying the Super Late Model division $4,000 to win in a 50 lap main event. The Modified division will also be in competition in a 20 lap, $600 to win feature race contest, along with the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). There will be a $40 entry fee for the Super Late Model division for this event.    

  The pit area and general admission for the  4th Annual Harold Hardgrove Memorial event will open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m.  Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing.
