Local Martial Arts Instructor Wins Title at World Finals

DUBLIN —   Sensei David King, owner of Elite Combat Ju Jitsu in Pine Knot traveled to Dublin, Ireland to compete in the A.K.J.U. World Finals, 16th Irish Cup on June 23.

  Sensei King brought home the Gold in Full Contact Fighting as well as Grappeling while  also winning the overall Grand Championship, 16th Irish Cup for the United States team.

   Sensei King competed with the best fighters from around the world to win his second world title.

  He has been competing as a top level fighter for over 16 years, traveling all over the United States as well as the world and will be inducted into the International Black Belt Hall of Fame for an impressive second time.

  King stated that he would like to thank all of his sponsors, friends, family and training partners for their support.

    "I want to send out a very special thanks to Master Danny Flick and his family, without whom this trip would not have been possible," King said. "We have trained together for over 16 years now and I owe him more than I could ever repay. Lastly but most importantly, I want to thank God, my church family at Redemption Way and Dr. Corina and her great staff for keeping me healthy and able to compete."
