Whitley City —     Curtis Ellis Bloodworth, age 76 years, 6 months, and 9 days of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Ross Grove United Baptist Church with Bro. James Dee Cox and Bro. Allen Coffey officiating. Burial followed in the Strunk Cemetery.

    He was born January 30, 1934 to the late Charlie Bloodworth and Essie Moncreif Bloodworth in Taylor Co. Georgia. Ellis was a member of the Ross Grove United Baptist Church. He enjoyed caring for his family and was known to be a good cook. Ellis was also an avid nature lover, who enjoyed fishing, along with feeding and watching birds and wildlife.

    Preceding him in death are his parents, his beloved first wife and mother of his children, Glenna, brothers and sisters, Fred, Charlie, Faye, and Laura, and grandchildren Alexander Hayes and LeslieAnn Corder.

    Survivors include his wife Audrey Bloodworth, of Whitley City; sons, Curtis Bloodworth and his wife, Freda, of Whitley City, and Walter Bloodworth, of London; daughters, Pat Watson, and her husband Sandy, of Parkers Lake, Tammy Lyons, and her husband, Jamie, of Wyburg, and Joy Hayes, and her husband, Phillip, of Pine Knot; brothers, Clifford Bloodworth, and his wife Millie, of Atlanta, Georgia, Alva Bloodworth, and his wife Elsie, of Pike Co, Georgia, and Terrell Bloodworth of Thomaston, Georgia; sisters, Irene Watkins and Mae Dent, of Thomaston, Georgia, and Jewell Sanders, and her husband Autrey, of Roberta, Georgia; grandchildren, Travis Kennedy, Sandra Watson, Alisha Genoe, Anthony Bloodworth, Shaine Corder, Mandy Ball, Jasmine Lyons, Jayden Lyons, Kylie’Ann Hayes, and Westyn Hayes; Eight great-grandchildren; step-children, Deborah Cox, of Whitley City, Glenna Jones, of Pine Knot, and Paula Brooks, of Pine Knot; Four step-grandchildren; Eight step-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Gene Hedgepath.
