Lois Stephens Alcorn

Lois Stephens Alcorn age 88 years, 3 months, and 30 days, the widow of George “Gale” Alcorn, of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, September 14, 2012 at 8:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley and Bro. John Ditty officiating. Burial followed in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.

She was born May 12, 1924 in McCreary County, Kentucky to J. Ed and Edna (Hamlin) Stephens. Lois was a member of the Whitley City First Baptist Church. She loved cooking and caring for her family. Lois also enjoyed sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, George “Butch” Alcorn Jr., brothers, Dillard and Delmer Stephens, and sisters, Grace Taylor, Carrie Strunk, and Ruth Roy.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Lois Hopkins Alcorn of Stearns, Kentucky; grandsons, Michael, David, and James Alcorn; and great-grandchildren, Casey Alcorn, Joshua Alcorn, and Dakota Alcorn.
