Zelma Ball

Zelma Ball, age 82, of Pine Knot passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. James Upchurch and Bro. Jason Vaughn officiating. Burial was in the Flat Rock Cemetery.

Born at Wiborg, Kentucky, on June 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley and Sara Emmaline (Taylor) Flynn. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by he husband Clarence Ray Ball, a son Ronnie Ball and his wife Rita, a sister Nina Flynn, three brothers Archie, Lloyd and Aurther Flynn and a granddaughter Brittany Ball.

Surviving family include three sons; Clarence Ball, Jr., Larry Ball and Chris Ball (and Sheila), five daughters; Carol Blakeley (and Gary), Brenda Hughes (and Ray), Elsie Dick, Wencie Trammell (and Johnny) and Vivian Humphrey all of Pine Knot, two brothers James Flynn, California and Roy Flynn, Whitley City, two sisters Adele Honeycutt, Huntsville, Tennessee and Esma Davis of Whitley City. She has are 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and her best friend Mary Slavey.

Ms. Ball was a homemaker and member of the Beulah Heights Church of God. She enjoyed sewing when she was able and spent a lot of time walking.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Ms. Zelma Ball in her funeral arrangements.
