Lenville Cordell, age 83 years, 7 months and 27 days, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at McCreary County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Sewell officiating. Burial was held in the Angel Cemetery.
He was born October 10, 1928 in Savoy, Kentucky to Jeff Cordell and Gladys Mayes Cordell. Lenville was retired from General Electric. He served his country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He enjoyed working around his home.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son, Bobby Joe Cordell, his brother, Dallas Cordell and sisters, Bonita Roe and Doris Brotherton.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Earls Cordell, whom he married October 23, 1951, his sons, Michael Cordell and his wife, Linda, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Donald Cordell of Whitley City, Kentucky, his brother, Winsford Cordell of Cincinnati, Ohio, his half brother, Bruce Shepherd of Somerset, Kentucky, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
