Sharyan Lee McKinney

Sharyan Lee McKinney, age 62 years, of Monticello, Kentucky formerly of McCreary County died July 18, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.  Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11am in the Lockett’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Wilder, Rev. Charles Spice, and Bro. Gary Clark officiating.  Burial was in the Dotson Cemetery.

She was born in Harriman, Tennessee on February 22, 1950 the daughter of the late James David and Arnetta (Munson) Kidd.  She was a retired school teacher, member of the Lockett’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Lake Cumberland Horseman’s Association, and the Monticello Quilting Guild.

Her parents; and brother, Hurstill Kidd precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband Dexter McKinney of Monticello, Kentucky; son, Kenny McKinney and wife Heather of Strunk, Kentucky; daughters, Charlotte Smith and husband Tony of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Emily Plemons and husband Daniel of Richmond, Kentucky, and Katie Shelby and husband Isaac of Clarksville, Tennessee; sisters, Edna Reynolds of Highland Heights, Kentucky, and EvaLee Ross of Whitley City, Kentucky and brother and sister Frank McKinney and Janet McKinney of Wilmore, Kentucky.  Grandchildren, Travis Smith, Chelsea Smith, Michael Crawford, Sydney Pruitt, Abby Perry, Carson McKinney, Chase Perry, Maddux McKinney, Ryan Smith, Grady Plemons, and Piper Plemons, countless nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends also survive.

McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
