As summer break winds down the fall sports season begin to wind up and for the McCreary Central Volleyball and Football programs the season is practically upon them.
The Lady Raiders will travel to Burgin to open their season on Thursday evening and will play again on the road next Monday at Garrard County.
The McCreary football team is still nearly three weeks away from the official opening game which will be the first under new head coach Derek Smith but the Raiders will see their first opponent this Friday as they travel to Casey County for a preseason scrimmage. They will then host Russell County in their second and final scrimmage on Thursday, August 19 before starting the season on the 27th as they host Pineville in the first of what will be only four home games this season.
