WHITLEY CITY —
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a sexual assault allegation.
Richard Andrew Cross, 20, of Revelo was arrested Friday night by Detective David Sampson and charged with one count of first-degree rape.
According to McCreary County Sheriff Gus Skinner, the incident occurred at B&C Townhouse Apartments on Pig Skin Road, inside Cross’ residence. The victim reported she was cleaning when Cross “took her upstairs and forcibly raped her,” the sheriff said.
Cross remains lodged in the McCreary County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in McCreary District Court on July 26 at 9 a.m.
Det. Sampson is in charge of the continuing investigation.
