A fugitive wanted in the Cincinnati area by the United States Marshals was captured late Wednesday on South U.S. 27 in Pulaski County.
Joshua Cannada, 28, of Whitley City, was taken into custody without incident by Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force as he was walking along U.S. 27 with a female and a small child. Cannada was listed as being armed and dangerous.
Cannada was wanted by the Blue Ash, Ohio, Police Department on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.
Cannada was wanted for invading a home in Blue Ash on February 8 and stealing prescription drugs from the victim (someone he knew) at knifepoint.
In addition to Whitley City, Cannada has also been linked to an address in Norwood, OH.
Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood said his office and the U.S. Marshals began the manhunt after they received information from Det. Rob Gerhardt of the Blue Ash Police Department that Cannada was living in southern Pulaski County.
“Surveillance by the U.S. Marshals early this week indicated Cannada was definitely in the area,” said Wood.
Cannada was observed by the U.S. Marshals as he walked along U.S. 27 on Wednesday. That’s when deputies and the task force swooped in and made the arrest.
Cannada was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center without bond to await extradition back to Ohio.
