Four arrested in drug trafficking sting

2 others sought on felony warrants

WHITLEY CITY —  Last Tuesday the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force and Kentucky State Police executed search warrants on two Pine Knot residences, resulting in the arrests of four individuals.

    The warrants were issued as part of an investigation over the course of several months using confidential informants and controlled buys.

Arrested at a residence on Massengale Road were Madie Parriman, 56, and Samantha Watters, 36 — both of whom were charged with first-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.

    Arrested at a residence off Airport Road were Carl Spradlin, 43, and Vivian Spradlin, 44. Mr. Spradlin was charged with first-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance while Ms. Spradlin was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with intent to Deliver or Manufacture.

    All four suspects are scheduled to appear in McCreary District Court on July 26.

    On Friday, the sheriff’s office posted information on two more suspects from the Pine Knot community who are wanted on felony warrants for first-degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.

    Tonya Anderson, 42, of Meadows Grove Road, is described as 5’5” tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

    Bobby Worley, 47, also of Meadows Grove Road, is described as 5’9”, weighing 154 pounds with gray hair and green eyes.

    Anyone with information regarding these individuals should call MCSO at 376-2322 or 911 Dispatch at 376-9117.

    WHITLEY CITY  — Topping the agenda for the May meeting of McCreary County Fiscal Court last Tuesday was the first reading of the 2013-14 county budget.
        At $7.65 million, this budget is down more than $650,000 from last year’s $8.3 million budget.
